Short Games Are Underrated, And I'll Die On This Hill
We've been trained to think value means length. But some of my favourite mobile experiences are the ones I actually finished, not the endless grinders that ask for a slice of my life every day.
Lantern Hollow is maybe three hours long, and it's better for it. Every scene earns its place, the ending lands, and I walked away satisfied instead of guilty about a save file I'll never touch again.
There's a quiet honesty in a short game. It respects that your time is finite. It doesn't need daily login streaks or an ever-expanding checklist to justify itself.
So don't skip a game just because it's brief. Some of the most memorable evenings I've had on a phone were with games that knew exactly when to stop.
